Throughout 2025, the RE-FEM consortium introduces the RE-FEM Talk series, which consists of 30-minute long webinars, designed to provide useful and inspiring information for women entrepreneurs, from women entrepreneurs in our International Networking Group on LinkedIn.

The RE-FEM Talk series kicked off on the 30th of January with an outstanding webinar, featuring Anna Häggblom, Finnish entrepreneur and AI strategist at Aveo. The webinar titled “From the Deep Forests to the International Stage: Unlocking AI for Women Entrepreneurs” focused on her story about how she became an AI strategist, and on her advices about how women entrpreneurs can benefit from using AI tools.  The conversation was moderated by Ann-Sofi Backgren, CEO of Brand-Sofi, one of the partners of the RE-FEM project.

Anna Häggblom shared her journey of integrating AI into business operations, and she described the valuable insights gained from it. Anna highlighted the critical importance of structured data and how her company’s initial use of Google Vision API was a turning point in recognizing AI’s capabilities. She emphasized that AI can handle repetitive tasks, allowing businesses to focus on areas where human creativity excels.

Anna addressed common misconceptions about AI, reassuring participants that they don’t need to understand every technical detail to benefit from it. She encouraged women entrepreneurs to start small by identifying specific tasks where AI can add value, such as sentiment analysis for meetings, or visualization tools like Canva for marketing. Another key message was the importance of networking and collaboration as AI rapidly evolves. Anna emphasized that entrepreneurs cannot navigate these changes alone and should seek support from peers and experts. She also highlighted the growing democratization of AI, pointing out that even small businesses now have access to the same AI models as large corporations.

Looking to the future, Anna identified emerging trends such as AI agents, which can take on specialized tasks like customer service, and the integration of AI with hardware in areas like home automation. She emphasized that these developments would profoundly impact various industries. As practical advice, Anna encouraged participants to focus on manageable AI applications, seek help when needed, and be cautious with trendy AI solutions promoted in the market. Her insights provided valuable inspiration for women entrepreneurs to explore AI as a tool to enhance their businesses.

The session concluded with an announcement that the next RE-FEM Talk will take place on the 8th of March, International Women’s Day, inviting participants to continue learning and innovating together.
