WA4STEAM is a growing international community of women investors that seeks to expand the female entrepreneurial presence in STEAM fields and increase the number of women business angels. It is a Women Angel Investors Network to support STEM entrepreneurs offering networking, mentorship, and financial literacy programs. Bridges knowledge gaps for women investors, empowers both investors and entrepreneurs, and boosted women’s participation in STEM investments.

Training course for women, female entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs in order to create an online business

Within the Women’s Integration through Digital Entrepreneurship – WIDE project, four training modules and related resources developed during the first year of project implementation were successfully piloted to encourage and support women, especially potential entrepreneurs, to create their own online business. The trainings include the following topics: female entrepreneurship, access to finance, sharing economy, digital entrepreneurship in a rural environment. The trainings are available in English, Macedonian, Spanish, Italian, Romanian, and Serbian.

WEgate Motivational café – reach your potential - 19 November 2021

 This video is from the webinar organised by WEgate in November 2021, under the title “WEgate Motivational Café – Reach Your Potential”, focusing on women entrepreneurs and supporting organisations working on this matter. The online gathering brought together 18 attendees from various European countries to delve into the multifaceted psychological essentials and how they impact motivation and goal achievement. The motivational café was moderated by the founder of Uella – Women Founders Emotional Care. Participants in this event had the opportunity to share best practices and experiences, gain insights into what motivation means for women entrepreneurs, and discover how to maintain their drive on the path to success. They emphasise the significance of understanding one’s psychological needs, recognizing the hunger for stimulus, and how these factors influence motivation. As entrepreneurship is known for its challenges, loneliness, and emotional stress, this event highlighted the value of sharing experiences, learning from peers, understanding their needs, and encouraging one another to attain new levels of success in both business and life. This event was part of the broader “Pure Learning” series by WEgate, a project dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs throughout Europe, not only in the intellectual and business aspects but also in the emotional and motivational dimensions. The conversation brought up the importance of understanding and addressing these aspects, especially in the context of the pandemic’s impact on women entrepreneurs.

Yes WE Can - The Voices of Women Entrepreneurs in Europe

In this video, ten distinct entrepreneurial journeys are showcased, each originating from diverse locations and backgrounds. These narratives encompass various entrepreneurial endeavours, from promoting female entrepreneurship and combating stereotypes in Greece to the modernisation of a family-owned textile business in Italy. Similarly, the stories feature businesses working on water treatment in Turkey or startups in Denmark with a mission to change the startup landscape and empower women in entrepreneurship. Furthermore, the stories extend to organisations in Italy supporting women in male-dominated micro-enterprises and Spain’s medical practice, which is a pioneering personalised radiotherapy for cancer treatment. Other inspiring entrepreneurial journeys involve robotics in Spain, focusing on sustainable microelectronics soldering technology, an online marketplace in India connecting plant enthusiasts and fostering sustainable urban living, a centre for assistive therapy with horses in Spain, and a Women Business Association in Kosovo which works tirelessly to advance women’s economic empowerment and gender equality.
While these entrepreneurial journeys vary significantly in their industry focus and geographical origins, they share common elements. In each story, there is a strong emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and a commitment to making a positive impact. Moreover, the entrepreneurs demonstrate remarkable resilience and a passion for driving change in their respective fields, all contributing to the cause of empowering women in entrepreneurship and fostering positive transformation within their communities and industries.

ifempower International Curriculum in Women's Entrepreneurship

Within the ifempower project, Bifröst University shares its teaching experience, together with the knowledge and best practices of the participating partner institutions.

The curriculum focuses on two main issues: it builds on the knowledge and skills to set up and manage a business by creating a business plan and it focuses on issues that can be specifically related to the experience of women entrepreneurs.
It is an international curriculum, based on mentoring and learning based on the analysis of case studies on good practices of women entrepreneurs.
This comprehensive module reflects on the known obstacles facing female entrepreneurship and empowers students to successfully overcome them. The course is available in English, Spanish, German, Icelandic, Hungarian, Portuguese, and Romanian.

Fundación MAPFRE 2024 Social Employment Programme

The ACCEDEMOS Call for Employment Grants is a project promoted by Fundación MAPFRE since 2013 that seeks to promote employment in Spain by supporting small businesses, the self-employed and social entities that need to hire and lack the resources to do so. The last call ended in June 2024 although it is reopened every year.

WEgate Peer-learning Webinar: Empowering women through skills development!

WEgate’s peer-learning webinar, ‘Empowering women through skills development’, explores the transformative journey of women’s economic empowerment. Hosted by WEgate, this webinar connects women across Europe to explore upskilling and reskilling opportunities. It emphasises the importance of skills training and entrepreneurship, showcasing how these are critical for women’s health, well-being, and income generation, especially in the face of rapid technological and digital transformations affecting jobs. This collaborative initiative involves a consortium of seven partners from six countries, including Italy, Austria, Spain, Belgium, Germany, and Portugal. Together, they have created a digital training Atlas named ‘DITA’ to catalogue and connect various training programs focused on digital transformation. ‘DITA’ is a valuable resource that helps users discover relevant courses and forge partnerships to empower women and businesses for a brighter future. This effort aligns with the vision that women’s economic empowerment is a ‘transformational process,’ boosting productivity, increasing economic diversification, and promoting income equality and other positive development outcomes.

She explains how this initiative has offered real-life solutions for start/ups, public and private institutions, academia and society in general, addressing female and male entrepreneurs alike to enact change.

WEgate – Access to finance

The first session consists of a panel of three outstanding women entrepreneurs from BAE WEGate Academy, who offer their valuable insights and experience in access to finance at large for women entrepreneurs and the hurdles they face in their own business ecosystems. Silvia Almeida, Business Angel and co-founder of WOMENWINWIN (an online community of women entrepreneurs in Portugal and cross-border), joined in the discussion Sasha Bezuhenova, Angel Investor and Founder of MOVE.BG (think-and-do tank for innovative solutions), and Rixt Herklots, director of The Next Women (network of women entrepreneurs and investors operating in Amsterdam and cross borders), to exchange views on financial operations for companies led and managed by women. They exchange opinions on the existing biases towards women in the ecosystem of businesses, the financial and literacy gap, and the vision distance, affecting investment readiness and access to finance for women wanting or already engaged in societal innovation and start-ups.
In the second part of the module, Claire Munck hosts Francesca Natali, Managing Partner at META Ventures (MV), Access to Finance for Women Entrepreneurs, who elaborates further on what investment readiness is and what it entails to be an Investor-Ready Entrepreneur, what the key necessary components for an access to finance program are and how to change paradigms into viewing investors as “customers of equity” could change the outcomes of access to finance.

FEMTECH for Resilience

 The “FEMTECH for Resilience”, is financially supported by CIPE – Center for International Private Enterprise, targeted micro, small, and medium enterprise owners, and innovative startup women’s companies, emerged within the challenging context of the COVID-19 crisis. Association of Business Women in Serbia (ABW Serbia) strategically positioned itself to support its member companies, particularly women entrepreneurs. The crisis created an urgent need for accelerated digitalization as a means for businesses to adapt and thrive in the face of unprecedented challenges. The project was conceived as a response to the evolving circumstances, aiming to empower women-owned enterprises with the tools and knowledge necessary to navigate the digital landscape effectively. The overarching goal was not only to mitigate the immediate impact of the crisis but also to position women entrepreneurs for long-term resilience through digital transformation.Utilizing webinars, podcasts, mentoring, and various communication channels, the project addressed crucial aspects such as digital strategy, employee engagement, and the role of ICT in business resilience. Activities included 5 webinars, 5 podcasts, mentoring sessions, pitching to business angels, and a lecture on workplace sexual harassment. The project’s impact was evident in raising awareness about the vital role of ICT in crisis resilience for women-owned businesses. The diverse communication channels ensured widespread outreach. Practical insights and role models presented in podcasts inspired participants, contributing to tangible digital transformation. Furthermore, the initiative improved access to finance and networking for ICT-focused female companies through a development program and pitch opportunities with female business angels. “FEMTECH for Resilience” effectively empowered women entrepreneurs by increasing awareness, building capacity, showcasing role models, and enhancing access to finance and networking during the challenging times of the COVID-19 crisis. Smart and Sustainable Business for Women Entrepreneurs - Free Online Training Programme/ WE.Circular project

The Smart & Sustainable Business for Women Entrepreneurs training programme is designed to help women build future-ready businesses by combining practical knowledge, digital skills, and the principles of sustainability. The programme is free, fully online, and open to participants across the Danube Region and beyond.
As a self-paced programme, it allows participants to learn flexibly, anytime and anywhere. For the first group of trainees, however, we are offering a special interactive part between September and November 2025. During this period, learners will not only explore twelve modules on business models, sustainability, digital tools, finance, and communication, but also take part in a series of live webinars with international experts. These interactive sessions will provide deeper insights into circular business models, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence in business, and effective communication, while also creating opportunities for networking and peer exchange.
This unique combination of independent learning and interactive support will give participants the knowledge, tools, and confidence to integrate circular economy principles into their businesses and to grow stronger, more sustainable companies.
The interactive programme will launch with a webinar on 22 September 2025 and continue through November. After that, the training materials will remain freely available for all interested learners. Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate. The initiative is supported by the WE.Circular project, co-financed by Interreg Danube Region Programme 2021-2027.  The training materials are available on the project website in eleven languages — English, Bulgarian, Slovak, Romanian, Hungarian, Serbian, German, Slovenian, Czech, Bosnian, and Croatian — ensuring accessibility for participants throughout the Danube Region and beyond.

Womenture Project

The Womenture Project is an international-level project. This collaborative initiative under Horizon Europe aims to boost female entrepreneurship by empowering innovation agencies and accelerators to expand their services and networks. The project supported the creation of joint services and activities to enhance the entrepreneurial ecosystem for women. It involved four partners: DEX IC (Czech Republic), SpinLab (Germany), Tehnopol (Estonia), and Design Terminal (Hungary). The project concluded in December 2024.

Capsule Project

The Capsule Project is an Erasmus+ international-level initiative, implemented as an international-level project with a focus on empowering young people, particularly women, in entrepreneurship and social enterprise. It promotes social inclusion and diversity while offering training in entrepreneurship, digital skills, and creative employability. The project involved partners from Romania (Impact Hub Bucharest, Career Shift), Croatia (Impact Hub Zagreb), and Hungary (Impact Hub Budapest). Over 18 months, 105 participants from the three countries participated, including 35 from Hungary. The programme ends in 2025. It specifically targets young women aged 18-28, including young mothers, migrants, refugees, and other disadvantaged groups, helping them overcome the fear of failure and build confidence in turning their ideas into businesses.

WEgate – Module 4. Funding Opportunities

 This module, led by Annamaria Magri Pantea, Secretary General of Linkedin Malta and expert in entrepreneurship and development support, offers direct insights into financing possibilities for both women entrepreneurs and organisations supporting women entrepreneurship. It covers the public EU funding support schemes for access to finance, innovation management, business development and international projects. The trainer focuses her presentation, examples and discussion on EU-funded schemes for innovative entrepreneurs and women entrepreneurs and women entrepreneurship supporting organisations, referring to both non-refundable (grant) and refundable (debt/loan) types of finance.

WEgate – Module 5. Why Digital Tools for Access to Finance Are Crucial to Master for Women Entrepreneurs

 In this session, Lin-Na Zhang, a business developer, explores with the participants the notions and examples of digital tools for access to finance and their importance for women entrepreneurs. By showcasing the example of LITA, the first social investment crowdfunding platform dedicated to social and ecological investment, she raises awareness of the opportunities of digital funding, co-investments with funds and crowdfunding campaigns for a wide range of actors, especially women entrepreneurs. The participants are presented with digital tools to track the impact of their money and the possibilities to invest in companies they believe in, such as sustainable development transition or companies engaged in fighting climate change or social inequalities

WEgate – Organisations in public policy

In this webinar, Marta Turk, a public policy expert, takes the participants from women entrepreneurship organisations into exploring policymaking and the ecosystem of public policy, such as legal frameworks, institutions, practices and actors that affect them daily. Using her long experience in shaping policies in favour of women entrepreneurs in rough environments, she provides a roadmap of strategies, methods, approaches, examples of targeted activities and best practices to introduce gender-focused policy making. She stresses the need for networking to enable women entrepreneurs to drive forward institutional and legal reform to fix institutional and market failures that preclude them from accessing the business ecosystem.

WINNOVATORS

WINNOVATORS is a EU project funded by Erasmus+ programme.Its main goal is to co-develop and implement innovative teaching and learning approaches to concrete policies for capacity building in the digital, entrepreneurial, STEM/STEAM innovation and sustainability fields, from which young women from rural areas and Higher Education students would benefit. The WINnovators project focuses on empowering young women in higher education institutions through:
Skills Promotion: Digital, entrepreneurial, STEM/STEAM, and sustainability skills.
Teaching Innovations: New methods involving students and rural women as learners.
Teamwork Capacity-Building: Cross-cultural teamwork skill development.
Participant Skills Enhancement: Gamified e-training for interactive learning.
Community Building: WINnovator community via social media for collaboration.
Policy Impact: International policy seminar for gender-sensitive education guidelines.
Winnovators platform offers online courses designed for young women under 35 in rural areas or marginalized communities, aiming to empower potential or beginner entrepreneurs. In Serbia, there was 15 teams, each composed of two young women, including aspiring entrepreneurs and students, have found success. Thirteen teams completed the initial pilot phase, and six are moving on to the second phase, focusing on creating business-oriented websites. During the first phase, each team, guided by mentors, developed a business plan with the goal of applying for funding. Adriana Mančić, an entrepreneur from Pirot with Roma descent, and her team member underwent additional Winnovators training in massage and website creation. Adriana successfully applied for and received subsidies, using the funds to purchase equipment, showcasing the project’s success. Stories like hers and that of another participant, Zdravka Simić from Smederevska Palanka, who also started her own company, can be found on the Winnovators YouTube channel.The Association of Business Women in Serbia could offer expertise and best practices for a tailored training manual that caters to the specific needs of young women in higher education. This involves promoting empowerment and inclusivity to enhance skills, encompassing both academic and entrepreneurial capabilities. Their focus on encouraging entrepreneurship, fostering innovation, and advocating for gender-sensitive education among young women actively contributes to the establishment of a more equitable educational landscape within higher education institutions.

The EEN2EIC (Enterprise Europe Network to European Innovation Council)

AWE Hungary – Academy for Wwomen Entrepreneurs

The Academy for WEs (AWE) is a global (international-level) programme supporting women in launching and growing their businesses. It offers participants training, mentorship, and access to a community of female entrepreneurs. Hungary joined the AWE programme for the fourth time in 2024, facilitated by the U.S. Embassy. The six-month programme is tailored to the needs of rural Hungarian WEs, combining international expertise with local context. The programme in Hungary is coordinated by the Impact Hub Budapest.

Smart and Sustainable Business for Women Entrepreneurs - Free Online Training Programme/ WE.Circular project

The Smart & Sustainable Business for Women Entrepreneurs training programme is designed to help women build future-ready businesses by combining practical knowledge, digital skills, and the principles of sustainability. The programme is free, fully online, and open to participants across the Danube Region and beyond.
As a self-paced programme, it allows participants to learn flexibly, anytime and anywhere. For the first group of trainees, however, we are offering a special interactive part between September and November 2025. During this period, learners will not only explore twelve modules on business models, sustainability, digital tools, finance, and communication, but also take part in a series of live webinars with international experts. These interactive sessions will provide deeper insights into circular business models, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence in business, and effective communication, while also creating opportunities for networking and peer exchange.
This unique combination of independent learning and interactive support will give participants the knowledge, tools, and confidence to integrate circular economy principles into their businesses and to grow stronger, more sustainable companies.
The interactive programme will launch with a webinar on 22 September 2025 and continue through November. After that, the training materials will remain freely available for all interested learners. Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate. The initiative is supported by the WE.Circular project, co-financed by Interreg Danube Region Programme 2021-2027.  The training materials are available on the project website in eleven languages — English, Bulgarian, Slovak, Romanian, Hungarian, Serbian, German, Slovenian, Czech, Bosnian, and Croatian — ensuring accessibility for participants throughout the Danube Region and beyond.

Coca-Cola women tour. 9th Edition, 2025. Promoted by Coca-Cola Spain to promote female entrepreneurship.

This is a programme to launch entrepreneurial projects led by RURAL WOMEN. Through a free online mentoring program using the social CANVAS model, they will be able to develop their entrepreneurial skills and define their business model. Aimed at women with a business idea or entrepreneurs, between 18 and 67 years old and preferably in municipalities with less than 10,000 inhabitants.
They will receive online mentoring, they will obtain exclusive content by being part of the “”Women’s Tour”” community and they also have a project contest. The winners will be able to obtain €8,000 in seed capital to start or improve their project.”

ENISA Emprendedoras Digitales

The Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service will allocate up to 51 million euros from 2025 to 2028 to boost women’s digital entrepreneurship, through the ENISA Digital Entrepreneurs funding line. The objective is to support and promote, through funding, female digital entrepreneurship projects and reduce the existing gender gap in this area. Beneficiary companies: SMEs in which one or more women hold a relevant position of leadership or power within the company: in the shareholding, in the administrative body or as part of the management team. This line is aimed at both newly created companies and those that are considering a consolidation, growth or internationalisation project.

Within the ifempower project, Bifröst University shares its teaching experience, together with the knowledge and best practices of the participating partner institutions.

WINNOVATORS

WINNOVATORS is a EU project funded by Erasmus+ programme.Its main goal is to co-develop and implement innovative teaching and learning approaches to concrete policies for capacity building in the digital, entrepreneurial, STEM/STEAM innovation and sustainability fields, from which young women from rural areas and Higher Education students would benefit. The WINnovators project focuses on empowering young women in higher education institutions through:
Skills Promotion: Digital, entrepreneurial, STEM/STEAM, and sustainability skills.
Teaching Innovations: New methods involving students and rural women as learners.
Teamwork Capacity-Building: Cross-cultural teamwork skill development.
Participant Skills Enhancement: Gamified e-training for interactive learning.
Community Building: WINnovator community via social media for collaboration.
Policy Impact: International policy seminar for gender-sensitive education guidelines.
Winnovators platform offers online courses designed for young women under 35 in rural areas or marginalized communities, aiming to empower potential or beginner entrepreneurs. In Serbia, there was 15 teams, each composed of two young women, including aspiring entrepreneurs and students, have found success. Thirteen teams completed the initial pilot phase, and six are moving on to the second phase, focusing on creating business-oriented websites. During the first phase, each team, guided by mentors, developed a business plan with the goal of applying for funding. Adriana Mančić, an entrepreneur from Pirot with Roma descent, and her team member underwent additional Winnovators training in massage and website creation. Adriana successfully applied for and received subsidies, using the funds to purchase equipment, showcasing the project’s success. Stories like hers and that of another participant, Zdravka Simić from Smederevska Palanka, who also started her own company, can be found on the Winnovators YouTube channel.The Association of Business Women in Serbia could offer expertise and best practices for a tailored training manual that caters to the specific needs of young women in higher education. This involves promoting empowerment and inclusivity to enhance skills, encompassing both academic and entrepreneurial capabilities. Their focus on encouraging entrepreneurship, fostering innovation, and advocating for gender-sensitive education among young women actively contributes to the establishment of a more equitable educational landscape within higher education institutions.

Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate. Országos Vállalkozói Mentorprogram / GINOP PLUSZ-1.1.3-24

GINOP PLUSZ-1.1.3-24 is a national-level programme providing personal mentoring for SMEs. Within the framework of the National Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program, the SEED Foundation – as the implementing body of the personal mentoring subproject – aims to enhance the competitiveness, efficiency, and growth of enterprises, focusing on four target groups. During the mentoring period – 6 to 12 months – the mentored enterprise/entrepreneur may use, free of charge, the mentoring services of a mentor they have selected, as well as 25 hours of so-called specialised consultancy available to them. The goal of the program is to make mentoring widespread throughout Hungary, to strengthen entrepreneurial awareness and cooperation, thereby reducing competitive disadvantages stemming from entrepreneurs’ gaps in knowledge, experience, and competencies.

AWE Hungary – Academy for Wwomen Entrepreneurs

The Academy for WEs (AWE) is a global (international-level) programme supporting women in launching and growing their businesses. It offers participants training, mentorship, and access to a community of female entrepreneurs. Hungary joined the AWE programme for the fourth time in 2024, facilitated by the U.S. Embassy. The six-month programme is tailored to the needs of rural Hungarian WEs, combining international expertise with local context. The programme in Hungary is coordinated by the Impact Hub Budapest.

Womenture Project

The Womenture Project is an international-level project. This collaborative initiative under Horizon Europe aims to boost female entrepreneurship by empowering innovation agencies and accelerators to expand their services and networks. The project supported the creation of joint services and activities to enhance the entrepreneurial ecosystem for women. It involved four partners: DEX IC (Czech Republic), SpinLab (Germany), Tehnopol (Estonia), and Design Terminal (Hungary). The project concluded in December 2024.

Training course for women, female entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs in order to create an online business

Within the Women’s Integration through Digital Entrepreneurship – WIDE project, four training modules and related resources developed during the first year of project implementation were successfully piloted to encourage and support women, especially potential entrepreneurs, to create their own online business. The trainings include the following topics: female entrepreneurship, access to finance, sharing economy, digital entrepreneurship in a rural environment. WINNOVATORS

WINNOVATORS is a EU project funded by Erasmus+ programme.Its main goal is to co-develop and implement innovative teaching and learning approaches to concrete policies for capacity building in the digital, entrepreneurial, STEM/STEAM innovation and sustainability fields, from which young women from rural areas and Higher Education students would benefit. The WINnovators project focuses on empowering young women in higher education institutions through:
Skills Promotion: Digital, entrepreneurial, STEM/STEAM, and sustainability skills.
Teaching Innovations: New methods involving students and rural women as learners.
Teamwork Capacity-Building: Cross-cultural teamwork skill development.
Participant Skills Enhancement: Gamified e-training for interactive learning.
Community Building: WINnovator community via social media for collaboration.
Policy Impact: International policy seminar for gender-sensitive education guidelines.
Winnovators platform offers online courses designed for young women under 35 in rural areas or marginalized communities, aiming to empower potential or beginner entrepreneurs. In Serbia, there was 15 teams, each composed of two young women, including aspiring entrepreneurs and students, have found success. Thirteen teams completed the initial pilot phase, and six are moving on to the second phase, focusing on creating business-oriented websites. During the first phase, each team, guided by mentors, developed a business plan with the goal of applying for funding. Adriana Mančić, an entrepreneur from Pirot with Roma descent, and her team member underwent additional Winnovators training in massage and website creation. Adriana successfully applied for and received subsidies, using the funds to purchase equipment, showcasing the project’s success. Stories like hers and that of another participant, Zdravka Simić from Smederevska Palanka, who also started her own company, can be found on the Winnovators YouTube channel.The Association of Business Women in Serbia could offer expertise and best practices for a tailored training manual that caters to the specific needs of young women in higher education. This involves promoting empowerment and inclusivity to enhance skills, encompassing both academic and entrepreneurial capabilities. Their focus on encouraging entrepreneurship, fostering innovation, and advocating for gender-sensitive education among young women actively contributes to the establishment of a more equitable educational landscape within higher education institutions.
The WINNOVATORS platform and its learning materials are available in English, Estonian, Italian, Romanian, Serbian, and Slovenian.
