FEMTECH for Resilience
From February 1 to September 30, 2022, the Association of Business Women of Serbia imolemented the project Promoting the Use of Digital Technologies to Make Women’s Enterprises Resilient – FEMTECH For Resilience, which is financially supported by CIPE – Center for International Private Enterprise.
The goals of the project is to raise awareness to the importance of information and communication technologies, in order to increase the sustainability of women’s companies in a crisis, including a pandemic, the development of the capacity of women’s companies for digital transformation, the presentation of women in entrepreneurship – role models in the field of digital transformation to other entrepreneurs, as well as better access to finance and networking to women’s ICT-oriented firms.
The project is aimed at owners of micro, small and medium enterprises, members of UPŽ Serbia, as well as women’s startup companies with innovation potential to acquire knowledge about DT (digital transformation) and apply them in their business.
The Covid 19 crisis has highlighted the need to accelerate digitization and create new opportunities in the situation that companies have faced. This encouraged UPŽ Serbia to support its members – entrepreneurs in turning to previously underutilized digital opportunities, which have now become extremely significant, with this project. This project made it possible to strengthen the capacity of female entrepreneurs for digital transformation through 5 webinars, 5 podcasts and pitching sessions, thus helping them to move to the next, higher level, in order to reduce gender inequality transferred from the offline to the online environment. Also, a lecture will be held for female entrepreneurs on sexual harassment at work, on how to recognize it, what are the forms and mechanisms of protection, in order to inform them about measures and steps in case it appears in their company.
